Kane County CourthouseThis is the season of change. The leaves are changing colors. We are changing from air conditioning and open windows to turning on the furnace. Time to change from lawn mowers to snow blowers. From shorts and t-shirts to pants, sweatshirts and coats. We also adjust our clocks from daylight savings time.

With change comes adjustments. The Kane County real estate market has gone through changes which means this is also a time of adjustments.

We would all love to be able to sell our houses and make out like a bandit and then get a great deal on the house we buy. Unfortunately, when the market is such that people are selling their homes for high prices, it usually means they are going to buy a home for a high price. Yes it is true that homes are selling for less than what they have been in the past but you have to remember, that means you will be buying a home at a lower price. We have all been spoiled by the home prices of the last few years. It is hard to accept less. In actuality, this is really more of a normal market. This is a good time to buy. Buyers don't have to settle. There is a lot to choose from and there are some great homes out there!

Although these numbers may be lower than in years past, they certainly are not as bad as thte media would have you believing. This Kane County real estate market report is based on the last 30 days and features ALL single family homes for sale and currently active on the market as well as ALL townhouses, duplexes and condos for sale and currently active on the market.
