This was a big stretch since I am not yet using video, so it was a learning experience, far from being perfect (I am giving that up)
My Elevator Speech when someone asks or does not ask what I do goes like this:
I am so privileged and lucky to have the opportunity every day to have a massive impact on the outcome of peoples lives by helping them decide one of their most important decisions, Where to Live. You see, I do more than sell homes, I help people realize their dreams and aspirations and affect the outcome of their lives through their environments which impact their lives everyday. This gives me the opportunity to add value to their lives and to me this is one of the most fulfilling jobs on earth and I love it enough that it has been a 25 year career that I look forward to every day. Here are 2 of my cards, if you know anyone who is making a life altering decision soon, I would love to be a part of their dream also, you see it is more than a job for me, it is my calling.
Here is my video, I hope:
WOW I am so proud of you doing your first video. Thanks for sharing and good luck with the contest! Y
Mary, I think there was a misunderstanding! When I read the post immediately after you posted it, the video was not there! So, I thought you gave up on the video! I wanted you to give doing the video a try! I think it is great!
Margaret, Thanks for your support, I don't think there are any emmys in this for me, but I did learn a lot by doing it.
Liz, I am just pulling your leg, thanks for stopping by, I have to do WYSWYG then do HTML to upload, perhaps an easier way, but I don't know it, so there is a gap from the first to second update of 1 minute and you were really quick in catching my post.
Glad to clear the air... I was mortified when I thought you understood that I was telling you to redo it! (Talk about tired... instead of doing the video for the elevator speech contest, I did the written version as I just spent the last two hours walking around my neighborhood as Dorothy (Wizard of Oz) in four inch sparkly red stilettos! Ouch!
I think your speech is perfect! It's you and the message is heartfelt! I hate video as well, but it's becoming so important today on search engines.
Hey Liz, Thanks for your comments, I was just ragging on you also, I don't have kids at home, all 4 are grown, I missed Halloween this year, I am on 8 acres and no goblins come up that drive (HA)
Vickie, You are most kind, I need an avatar at my age to do my videos!!!!
Dear Mary -
Keep up the good work!
Doing the video is a big step!
Have a happy day -
Lynn
Hi Mary. Great job on your video. I just tried it for the first time too. It's so good to hear your voice and get to know you better.
A good one. . you portray yourself very well in video. . you should do this more often. .
Nice presentation of just what you do and how it goes beyond simply "selling" real estate. And good for you to go outside of your box with the video.
If only more people would realize the impact that real estate agents have, as well as the fact that home inspectors don't kill deals — the homes themselves do — we could get so much more done.
Debbie - Thanks for your kind words, I threw it together quick and really learned a lot by doing it.
Fernando, thanks I guess that is really who I am???
Ken - I did get outside my box, need to work on this more
Russel - Houses sell houses, that is the truth!!!
Good afternoon Mary! Great elevator speech! Here's wishing you ample opportunities to use it!
Mary - Way to go! Now that wasn't too bad was it? Nice start. Can't wait to see more.
Mary - You seemed very comfortable in front of the camera. I think you have a future in videos. I still can't get near a video camera myself.
Joni, Thanks I need to rerecord it, but it was a good first pass
Peter, Thanks, got to start someplace
Gail - I am not going to turn in my real estate license yet, but I enjoy teaching.
GOOD MORNING MARY! I don't have the courage to do a video yet - maybe I will after this! Good for you for jumping in and giving it a good speech on top!
