Forgiveness

If you want to be forgiven then you must learn to forgive yourself. We keep hearing on the news that a person can’t forgive another person, but as soon as they something wrong, they ask others for forgiveness. Remember a bridge is something that goes both ways and sometimes you need to give the right away to oncoming traffic in order to pass yourself.

Thanks for your words of wisdom Todd - and forgiving yourself can be the hardest thing, but when you do, you can move on in a positive mindset and not miss all the joy of what today can bring once you get out of your own way!

I love my dad but this unfortunately is his Achilles Heel.   Life's too short plus it makes you sick with the stress of harboring grudges.  Thanks for this Todd, it's a good life.

Hi Todd....very true good advice for us all. Neat Photo, is the bridge in Oregon...just a thought isn't this one way traffic on this bridge?

Good morning Todd. I am probably my worst critic and this is good advice. Sometimes we need to give ourselves the same latitude we give others.

God gave us the power to forgive, yet so few use it. It really is a shame that something so easy is so hard to do.

Forgiveness is not done for the offender, it is done for us. When we forgive we break the chains that bind us. We are free to move on to bigger and better things. It doesn't matter if they deserve it or not (actually, none of us DESERVE forgivness. It is a gift of grace!)

Todd, forgiveness has so many benefits and is needed by so many. But you are right that forgiveness begins with oneself. Be well. I wrote a post on forgiveness a while back and it is a topic dear to my heart. Be well.

It has always been easy for me to forgive. You see, I have a very bad memory and most of the time I forget the trespasses against me before they have a chance to eat at me!
