In celebration of Native American Heritage Month, the Humboldt County Library and U.S. Forest Service co-sponsor a month-long series of films produced by and about Native Americans.
The November schedule of Tuesday night film screenings are as follows:
November 1: Tell Them Willie Boy is Here (1969)
November 8: Pow Wow Highway (1989)
November 15: Frozen River (2008)
November 29: Smoke Signals (1998)
The film screenings begin at 6:30 p.m. at the Eureka Main Library, 1313 3rd St, Eureka, CA, beginning with a brief introduction by Mike Turek, Tribal Relations Program Manager for Six Rivers National Forest.
Each screening is open to the public and is free of charge.
Native American Heritage Month was established in 1990 to recognize the significant contributions and rich cultural traditions of Native Americans.
