I am at Sam's Club in Manchester, Connecticut, using their free ATT internet access.  Paying my bills online and catching up with my online life:)

Been roughing it for a couple of days.  The snow that we received on Saturday into Sunday was more than we expected.  10 inches of beautiful white snow.  Yes, it is a beautiful sight to see.  However, it was a heavy, wet snow that caused tress to fall, branches to split and it will be weeks before we are back to any kind of normal.   Daytime reaches high 40's, melts the snow and freezes on the roads and sidewalks, at night.  The temperatures at night are in the 20's. The photo below, was on Day 1.  We had more than ten inches of heavy, wet snow. If you look closely, you can see the snow falling in the photo.

Gas lines!  Yes, just like in the 70's!  Only then, my boyfriend, who was a mechanic at a garage that fixed vehicles and sold gas, would fill up my car, after hours.  Now, I am one of those folks, in line.  I hit it lucky, today.  Drove to Stop & Shop and was the second car.  I couldn't believe it!  Filled up and on my way, in minutes.  They must have just opened.

For the most part, people have been kind and generous.  I wish I had my Flip camera to capture some of these kind acts. Here's a photo of the great team from Sam's Club, who are always helpful and care about their members! There are many good people in Connecticut!

Frances,

Sounds like an Oklahoma winter, except we have freezing rain that freezes on our power lines. Sam's makes a great office early in the morning, especially with their free coffee and fruit. :D  Hoping your life gets back to normal soon!

Frances I still do not have power either, but both my offices have power so at least I have been able to charge my phone and laptop, and of course do my business.  But without power at home everything seems to be in a little bit of a fog.

Thanks, everyone!  Power is back on, this morning. I let our neighbors with generators know that we were back on the grid.  Still no cable, phone or internet.  Grateful for Sam's CLub offering the free wifi. We lost some food, our garage door openers and a television. Still checking out the rest of the house. Outdoors we did lose some trees.  Minor losses considering the situation.

Weather is supposed to hit 60 today, so, that will help, also:)  We still have more people in our state, without power.  Hoping that by the weekend, everyone is back on the power grid.

Halloween was cancelled, so, hoping that Saturday night will bring out the trick or treaters!  Can you imagine, Halloween cancelled because of a snowstorm??  Crazy!
