Our Job is to Get Signatures!

Real Estate Broker/Owner with HomeRome Realty 410-530-2400 311291

                              Getting signatures

I have seen agents "focus" so much on one thing like FaceBook, Twitter, flyers, emails or other  various 'busy' activities, they forget what's important.

The goal is to get signatures!

Signatures on listings, signatures on buyer agency, signatures on offers, signatures negotiating, signatures on home inspections and signatures on the documents at the closing table.

Whenever I am not going after a signature by way of a listing appointment, showing homes,  going on inspections, appraisals, taking seminars,  spending personal time with family and friends...then I can usually be found in the world of blogging.

We have seen people doing so much...working so hard ... keeping so busy... they forget to get face to face with buyers, sellers and other agents. That's where the signatures come from.

Does everyone understand? Our job is to get signatures!

HELL YES! Now someone is speaking my language. Just sign here and we'll get started. We are in sales. Good salespeople get their customers and clients to sign on the line that is dotted

Margaret what a fantastic blog. You hit the point exactly. One can put 24 hours a day into something but without meeting buyers and sellers in order to get listings and sales, you can not survive.

Well I guess you know I completely agree. Without signatures we are unemployed! And I truly believe this is mind set more than anything else. I wake up everyday obsessd with where to find my signature for the day. I may not succeed everyday but if I can suceed once or twice a week I'm good to go.

Having enough signatures will solve every probelm in real estate.

Margaret I had this very same conversation with a fellow owner/broker.  We both agreed getting back to basics and what gets those signatures is of utmost importance. Many agents have gotten way side-tracked with this sm thing and that sm thing etc etc. All of a sudden it sucks up an afternoon or day and that turns into nada.  Basics I say of which blogging is one of them.

Sally, Yest they are!

Tim, Great tag line.

Barbara, Always keep what's important up front.

Bob, Thanks for stopping by.

Mark, Make it easy for yourself.

Jeanne, Those have to be qualified signatures...but of course.

Joshua, You are so right.

Kristin, Yep...get with it!

Tammie, Blogging gets us face to face.

William, Even though we get signatures up front...we don't get paid until after the deal is closed and sometimes....

Phillip, I knew you would like this kind of talk.

Anna, It is about the signature.

Terri, Your post was a hit. Great talking with you this evening.

Chris Ann, You know what you are after!

Carla, The only tool you need is pen and paper to close a deal.

Scott, I thank you. Careful how you spend those hours.

Bryant, Good speaking with you today. Without those signatures..we are out of business.

Anna, We also get so caught up with our gadgets...we forget the pen and paper.

Gregory, You need to watch for the buying signals!

Christine, You are quite clear on that!

Justin, That works.

Lynn, I left one off the sign above and one of my favorites...."Just Shut Up and Sign". Caution: this has to be done with humor and confidence!

You said it.  I love doing the social media stuff and hope it will eventually lead to more signatures on the dotted line.

I have a Droid phone and I can place sticky notes on the home page.  I have one on the left hand side of the home page that says; GET UP EARLY, WORK HARD AND CLOSE DEALS.  Now closing deals means get things signed.

Amen! It's very easy for agents to get sidetracked by absolutely everything else possible besides the main focus of being toe to toe with Sellers and Buyers. Marketing time and Social Media time don't 'reject'.... real people can and sometimes do... Bottom line... if you aren't getting lots of rejection.... you aren't really working!

Steve, Signatures are  just the beginning. With out them...there are no closed deals.

Beverly, You have to at least put yourself in front to get those rejections. The more risks I take, the luckier I get!

This is an interesting perspective.  Of course, one must always advise their clients on when it is appropriate and perhaps not appropriate to sign.

Margaret, missed this post - but now that when I read it, I'd say, of course, our job is to get the signature - after telling the TRUTH! (being burnt down by some top agents who just take 'listings'...)
