Are you intestate? That doesn't sound like something good, does it?
There are so many clients I meet that haven't had that conversation with their loved ones, let alone with themselves.
Do you know what will happen to your property, accounts and personal belongings after you are no longer here?
Do you have a painting, a quilt, a favorite fishing rod that you would like a grandson, niece or special friend to have to remember you by?
Planning at any stage of life is a good thing. You might have children. Have you designated a guardian? Have you made provisions for life insurance for them? Do you know how children could pay for a funeral?
These are all questions no one wants to think about. But, since I have three friends who have recently lost loved ones and I have as well, they are questions that should be asked, answered and put aside for when the time comes.
Estate planning ensure the proper handling of yoru financial assets upon your incapacity or death. It includes beneificiary designations, how the ownership of assets is held and the unique circumstances of your family.
