HR3915 TAKES AWAY BROKERS ABILITY TO EARN

Mortgage and Lending with United American Mortgage Corporation 407952

An Account Rep. send me this link.  I took the time to read through the proposed BILL and while some clear points on reform are made I do believe without a more careful structure this bill will be harmful to independent mortgage brokers.   The industry has taken it's toll on the mortgage broker.  I will not persuade you to vote "No" and sign this petition as I have.  That is up to you.  This may or may not have a deep impact on how some of you do business and generate income so I do encourage you to follow the links I have provide.  Should you feel strongly against the proposed HR3915 Legislation you may wish to add your signature.

This link is to a petition opposing the new legislation being voted on next Tuesday that would eliminate Broker Rebates (YSP), among other things.  Please sign it and pass it along to anyone else you think would be interested.

For years the banks have tried to get into real estate brokerage at a nation level avoiding the state laws and have not been able to get that bill passed. Now they are trying to eliminate mortgage brokerage. On one hand they say that the increase in competition is good and on the other they are trying to restrict competition. It's all about the banks making more money.

No brokers and no YSP will eliminate the ability for a consumer to shop for a loan! Sad!

Hi Andrew!  Thanks for posting this link.  Although I agree that consumers should not be sold a not-so-great loan when they could get a better loan, just so commission will be higher (and I really hope that particular practice stops!), but I also feel it is very, very important for the industry to remain competitive so that consumers have choices - that is what our country is supposed to be about - choices and entrepreneurism - I hate to see a brick taken out of that wall that will impact so many things that we probably can't even comprehend the full impact of something like this.
