BIG Day on an ActiveRain Outside blog...

By
Real Estate Agent with HER Realtors

Last Monday was a BIG Day on an ActiveRain Outside blog... almost 400 visitors.  Happy Halloween!

 Google Analytics

Southern Delaware County Ohio likes Halloween, I had a  BIG day on an ActiveRain Outside blog....

This is traffic on my southern Delaware County Ohio homes blog, an ActiveRain Outside blog.  According to Google Analytics for the url (http://sDelawareCoHomes.com ) on Monday there were visitors... most for "Trick-or-Treat" info. The traffic was for Halloween posts, in particular "Trick-or-Treat" posts.

Over 300 visitors....

Way more visitors than ActiveRain traffic on that post.  Do you understand why an ActiveRain Outside Blog gets more traffic than the same content on ActiveRain? When ActiveRain tells you to post about hyperlocal content do you? ActiveRain tells the search engines the post on your Outside Blog is the original.  Google (and other search engines)  do the heavy lifting...

For those who stop by to say "Did you get any business from it?", no, no one stopped to say "I must buy a house, please help me"  Or "Please come over and list my house."   as they ran off to buy candy.  Or to put their costume on....

You can get an ActiveRain Outside Blog for only 19 dollars a month. In your left sidebar. Having a great hyperlocal Outside blog is no more work than having an ActiveRain blog.

So what is the point? I rather have two visitors that want to buy or list than 400 looking for candy.

It has to do with Google learning the consumers (who may or may not currently have real estate needs) search choices.  The two buyers on a blog who have real estate needs are not crowded by the consumers looking for Trick-or-Treat times, restaurants, local events.  Chances of Google offering your content over and over each time the consumer asks for the location increase if they choose your local content.

I had over a thousand visitors on my WordPress blog on Halloween, the majority looking for Halloween content, the most common was Trick or Treat time.  The AR Outside blog surprised me because it is relatively new.

As someone searching for info I don't necessarily like the trend but as someone creating content and using blogs to get real estate leads I see a value in consumers ending up on my sites when they search for community news about Columbus, Worthington, Delaware County, etc.
