I’m sitting in the den of my home watching about 40 quail and six to eight pheasants eating among the bushes and trees in our front yard, which made me appreciate how great it is to live in North Idaho. And then I thought about Cabela’s in Post Falls, which is located just off Interstate Hwy 90 near the Washington/Idaho State line about 7 miles from where I’m sitting. The store’s 125,000-square-foot retail showroom is an educational and entertaining attraction (as well as a retail store) featuring a décor of museum-quality animal displays, aquarium and trophy animals interacting in realistic re-creations of their natural habitats.
This is a great place to take the family, the kids love to see all the animals that are on display. There is a café and a sweet shop with a great variety of fudge and many other sweets. If you are a hunter there is no end to the many supplies that you will be tempted to purchase. This retail store has been a great addition to the Post Falls area.
