Many of us have enjoyed driving or riding in, Chevrolet's. I had a Ford Mustang and I do believe that it drove my boyfriend, crazy. So, my second car was a Camaro that I special ordered from Tom Walsh at Grody Chevrolet in West Hartford, Connecticut. He was my boyfriend's Dad and a really good person. He was so helpful and patient with me, while I was deciding on engine size, color of the exterior, interior, wheel choices, tire size, etc. It was really fun to order a car, back in 1971! You could choose which size gears, rear end, radio, carpet, seat covers, what color the interior would be, tinted windows, spoilers and so much more. I can still remember those grins that were on the Walsh men's faces:) as they patiently, watched me design my new car. My car's exterior color was rosewood metallic. Good times, for sure.
That car was so good to me. Her name was, Clara Camaro. Oh, yes, I named all of my vehicles! Still do! I drove it for five years before selling it to my then, boss's husband. It had low mileage and was very clean.
When my children were younger, I had a full size Chevy Blazer, 4X4,1983. It was perfect for taking the kids to the beach, fishing, skating, etc. I always brought goodies along with us. That truck was good for packing up lunches, toys, projects, balls & bats and more! We were always busy, doing everything that little ones enjoy. In 1985, I bought my second Chevy Blazer.4X4, This one, had air conditioning and a better radio with a tape player. You can't even imagine how much and how fast all of this has changed and improved. We used to take it to the Rock Cats Games and also, the Red Sox Games in Boston. Fishing was fun because the back of the vehicle opened up and we could sit inside the truck and still fish at night! Watch for falling stars. Fireworks, every year! Sometimes, we threw the kids and our bikes in the back of the Blazer and we would go for bike rides on nearby trails. These vehicles were perfect for enjoying extra activities with your children.
My Son, purchased his first Camaro when he was in college. A, 1996, black SSZ28, 4 speed - loaded. Special ordered and very much, loved. It was an amazing car! He just recently sold it to his college roommate.
Now, I have a Corvette, electron blue:) Yes, the children have grown up:) My youngest is getting married next year. Where did that time go? In my life, I have owned five Chevrolet's and would have no problem purchasing another one. After all, the new Camaro's are pretty hot! That has always been my favorite car, even though the Corvette is the best, it sits, only two. Still think that the Camaro's are one of the sharpest looking sport's cars!
Would I sing, Go Grammie, Go, if I were driving a hot sport's car, now? My Grandson, Tyler, is almost eighteen months old! Yes, I guess that would be the case!
I will have to see what pics I can find and scan them onto this post. The changes in our lives, can be shown by the cars that we drive! LOL! Who would have thought that?
Thank you, Chevrolet, for the fabulous memories! I can honestly say, that I enjoyed my time of owning the Chevrolet's! They are an awesome car! I loved my piece of American Pie!
