How to Sell your House in 5 Days Scam

By
Real Estate Agent with RE/MAX Advantage Plus

I came across this story today on Realty Pupil.com today. If the author of the Blog had not actually been in the middle of this story, I never would have believed it. This is his first hand account of how a house, in a nice neighborhood, on Craig's list claiming it must sell in 5 days or the sellers will lose it to foreclosure. The house was priced about 20% below the neighborhood norm.  Even though the author thinks it is too good to be true, he plays along, only to find out it really was a scam.  Read the details here.

The fake agent should be reported to State and have fake license revoked by a fake court!

Buyers love the thought of buying an investment property. They get excited when they find a property 20% undervalue and then they start to overbid. I see it all the time.

Interesting, I looked up the law in the state of Missouri after reading a synopsis of the how to sell your home in 5 days or less book. The state of MO forbids anyone besides a licensed auctioneer to advertise or perform an auction. So these wanna-be unlicensed agents may be breaking the law. Check the law in your state but I know I can't do that here.

Please give me a gratuitous click and bump my rankings. I know it's shameless but I'd to it for you.

Wow thanks for posting that. It's so easy for people to pray on others looking for a deal especially in this market, it's sad, plus it gives us a bad name.

Unbelievable! If I were the author of that article, I would be filing a complaint with the State for unlicensed activity both as an agent and possible auctioneer. Thanks for the heads up on this scam as I'm sure we will be seeing a lot of this in the very near future!
