An efficiency expert concluded his lecture with a note of caution.
"You don't want to try these techniques at home."
"Why not?" asked somebody from the audience.
"I watched my wife's routine at breakfast for years," the expert explained. "She made lots of trips between the refrigerator, stove, table and cabinets, often carrying a single item at a time. One day I told her, 'Hon, why don't you try carrying several things at once?'"
"Did it save time?" the person in the audience asked.
"Actually, yes," replied the expert. "It used to take her 20 minutes to make breakfast. Now I do it in seven."
Ouch! I have lived with that mistake several times in the 30 years I've been married...
Hi Maurice,
Now that is funny! Always best to curb the "suggestions" for our spouses unless we want to end up doing things ourselves.
Lisa
Good morning Maurice. Very funny. I enjoyed this a lot. I guess, sometimes it's better to leave things alone. Thanks for the smile and have a good weekend.
These kinds of suggestions are hardly ever taken in the spirit in which they were given, aren't they?
LOL. That one made me laugh out loud ! Fortunately I have learned not to say some things that may not produce the desired effect. Unfortunately, I haven't learned not to say ALL of them!
Oh Maurice, I saw that coming but it was still like a proverbial freight train when it hit the station, touche'.
