The area where I work is adjacent to joint base Lewis-McChord. Not surprisingly, we see a lot of buyers using the VA loans here. There are lots of active duty service-people here, and many retired soldiers as well. It's a great place to be. We have daily opportunities to thanks our folks in uniform for their service--- and if you see someone in uniform in the mall or at the grocery store, I encourage you to take that step. The good news for soldiers and vets who are thinking about home-ownership is that rates and fees are great right now. The VA funding fee has just been reduced, and I have seen local rate sheets with VA rates as low as 3.8%. These rates, combined with the competetive home pricing we are seeing makes is a great time for military buyers. Great houses, great prices, great rates. It's a win-win-win.
