Nashua New Hampshire Celebrates Local Artists

By
Real Estate Agent with BHG The Masiello Group

nashua artArtWalk Nashua returns this Saturday November 5th from noon to 5:00 p.m. and Sunday, November 6th from noon to 4:00.

Local artists will open their studios, galleries and businesses to visitors.

ArtWalk Nashua is a wonderful opportunity to meet Nashua artists and get a head start on holiday shopping, while at the same time supporting local talent.

The Millyard District is one of my favorite places to visit during the Art Walk.  Visitors will be able to visit studios and galleries in the Picker Building (located at 99 Factory Street).  Also, you can enjoy viewing art, pottery, jewelry, stained glass, photography, paintings and fine art. Venues include the Nashua Public Library, Indian Head Plaza, 55 Lake Street Studios, and Studio 99.

Nashua downtown businesses will be hosting artists in their shops. Participating artists include members of the Hollis Arts Society, Nashua Area Artists Association, League of NH Craftsmen, and many local independent artists and artisans.

Musical entertainment will be offered as well.  Musicians include Ashley Addington, Molly Wood, Eclectic Wind Quintet, Resonance Chamber Music, Steady Hands Guitar Studio, Jake Smith, Yolanda Becker, and Triple Shot Factory Funk. Community Music School will offer an African Drumming workshop and Beck's Art Express will be offering children's art workshops on Saturday at Indian Head Plaza. A Zentangle workshop will be offered at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, at the Library. Meri Goyette will be signing copies of her new book, Nashua: People and Places, at 100 Main Street.

RJ Finlay & Co., the new owners of One Indian Head Plaza, have offered open space in their building for programming and free parking for this year's ArtWalk

There are many more venues, events and participants which you can check out at the Art Walk Website to find a map, view a full list of venues and check out the schedule of many more events.

Joan this sounds like an excellent event, and it is a good thing that it was scheduled for this weekend instead of last weekend :)

George ~  They ARE lucky they didn't have this schedule for last weekend.  Hope your POWER is back!  What a trick mother nature played on New England!  (:

Valerie ~  Fortunately, most of the snow has melted.  The temperatures were mostly around 50 during the days following the storm.  It definately is a good thing Artwalk Nashua wasn't scheduled for last weekend.  I love all the murals too!  I am going to try to find out more about their history and who the artists were.

Hi Joan,

I love activies like this...but I'm surprised you said "resume" and it's heading towards winter. Do you have the art walks normally this time of year?  Just curious.

Roy and Dolores ~ The flower show looks like a great event - dalias make their own art!

Kathy ~ I would love to visit Uxbridge and the art shows.

Russel ~  Hope you had a delicious weekend and thanks for stopping by to say hello.  It's always nice to see your smile!

Judi ~  I love the fall events.  They are always so much fun and everyone is full of anticipation.

Lynda ~  The Art Walk has been going on for several years.. I think it used to be in Oct. rather than November.  It is a great event and I look forward to it in the fall.

Joan, The Artwalk sounds like great local fun and a way to support local artists.  And music too.

We have "Open Studios" out here where the public is invited into artist's studios.  My wife, a potter, has participated in the past but I was uncomfortable with it because her ceramic studio is in our house.  Strangers came in and walked all around the house, not just inside her studio.

I love the picture of the mural and how the doorway and column are incorporated into the painting.  Have lots of fun.
