Halloween TRICK or Treat?

This year we had a Trick rather than a Treat when Halloween arrived!  Saturday, October 29th, 2011 we had a huge snowstorm hit.  We got over 18 inches of snow and lost power at midnight.  Now, a week later, still no power at home!  Local schools and gyms have been converted into shelters.  The kids missed the entire week of school because of this snowstorm.  They'll be happy to be back on Monday (I hope!).

Check out this video I shot in my driveway of all of the branches and power lines down.  Literally every 15 minutes you would hear cracking and banging of trees & branches hitting the ground.  Pretty scary stuff!  Thankfully my mom took us in for the week so we didn't have to stay in the cold house.

Have a great weekend friends & hope you've all got your power back!

I really hope this is not an appetizer for the winter that is still to come Kathleen.

Glad your family had a nice, warm, welcoming place to go.  Grandma's house is always a good place to be.

It was very scary!

There are some people that are still without power and some fatalities which is very unfortunate.

Glad you were able to stay with your Mom and have some time together under the circumstances!

Have a good weekend!

Hi Kathleen - Tornadoes and October monster snowstorms.  What a year.  I hope it gets better for you soon.

It certainly was a lot of snow, and it is interesting how hard some of our areas got hit and others didn't.  Here in Milton all we got was a dusting that didn't even cover the grass.

I'm just afraid this was a "dry run" for winter.

Now we have 70 degree weather...go figure!  Hope that's the last of the snow for the year.  Wouldn't that be great?  Guess I can keep dreaming!  :)  15 more years & I'm out of here!
