Chamber Players of the Redwoods, a county–wide chamber musician's alliance, will present two North Coast chamber music ensembles performing works by Beethoven. Karl Reinecke and Gordon Jacob on Sunday November 6, 2011 at 2 pm in The Morris Graves Museum of Art, 636 F St. in Eureka, California.
Trillium, a trio featuring Eureka Symphony members Karen Sack, clarinet, and Sherry Hansen, viola, with Fortuna’s versatile pianist Dana Christen, will appear first on the program, performing British composer Gordon Jacob’s Trio followed by the Moderato movement from Carl Reinecke’s late romantic masterwork, Trio in A.
Following intermission,Friends of Mozart, a quintet featuring chamber pianist Barbara Davenport and four Eureka Symphony wind players (Susan Sisk, oboe, Gwen Ayoob, clarinet, Val Phillips, horn, and Justin Sousa, bassoon) will present the seldom-heard Quintet in E flat, Opus 16*, a landmark work by Ludwig van Beethoven.
This concert is the twelfth in a series which began in 2007, featuring North Coast chamber music ensembles.
The musicians welcome the opportunity to return to the warm acoustical environment of the Morris Graves Museum of Art.
