Kissing Frogs Along The Way To Arrive At Your Handsome Prince

Kissing FrogsI have concluded finding true love and finding the "best" house as a buyer have some interesting parallels. Both are like a match game. Both take time. Both you will stumble along the way to get to happily ever after and it is like

Kissing Frogs Along The Way To Arrive At Your Handsome Prince.

This concept of course comes from the Grimm's fairy tale about a Princess that was the only one that could break the spell cast on the handsome Prince where he had been turned into a frog by kissing him. Then of course they live happily ever after.

In modern times for women, and maybe even for looking at houses, you have to kiss a lot of toads along the way before you find your handsome prince.

Liss A ToadSo a few lessons and quotations along this line of thinking. People do not always know what they are doing every step along the way. Much trial and error in finding homes, finding true love, making a good decision. Be patient with people, cut them slack, allow for mistakes, and forgive hurt they cause you.

Also be aware of these two quotes about what comes into your life and not taking too long to find your Prince:

"You never know what you have till you lose it, but you never know what you are missing till it arrived."

"Never take someone for granted. Hold every person close to your heart because you might wake up one day and realize you have lost a diamond while you were too busy collecting stones."

Love the analogy in your story!  It is so very true.

Good morning Gary. You can find a ton of parallels in our line of work. I remember an old friend once telling me instead of worrying about getting a yes to get him twenty no's a month. His thoughts were a lot like the frogs if you get enough no's, the yes will come.

Those who open their eyes and understand value recognize the pearl when they see it.  It does take some appreciation through experience to get to that place where you know the right home or appreciate the merit of something.  It's a journey of self understanding and ability to listen to oneself to be able to appreciate what we seek.  Excellent post.

Kissing a lot of frogs gives you a better chance on finding the price.  Looking a many homes in YOUR price rancge gives you the same chance!

Gary, we prefer our buyers to kiss all princes before finding THE PRINCE. We do all the good selecting for our buyers so each property is prince in their own right.

Gary - "You never know what you have till you lose it, but you never know what you are missing till it arrived." - words to live by! I think of my "problems" as of the "high-class variety" and try to keep my memory green when I first left home and there were times I could barely afford car insurance, or even had to go without health care. Suddenly a stain on my new carpet doesn't seem too bad! It's all about our expectations and humbleness, which I get from God. As always thanks for inspiring me for the day!

Gary - Nice analogy.  Unfortunately many buyers miss the first handsome prince for fear that it might actually be a frog.
