Have you "Looked" at your Mail Box?

By
Real Estate Agent with Dan Edward Phillips

When was the last time you 'really' looked at your mail box?

The buyers of your home may be looking for it!

Before listing your home for sale, take the time to 'check' your mailbox.  It should be 'neat and tidy', it should be in a very visible location and the numbers should be LARGE and reflective and on BOTH sides of the mailbox (and also on the front if your mail box is located with other mailboxes)!

Buyers looking for your address may be watching the numbers on the mailboxes.  Don't make it a big secret where your home is give the buyers some help!  If in doubt,  replace your current mail box with a new one that is VISIBLE!

It may make the difference between buyers 'finding' your home and just 'giving up' and looking at other listings!

Dan: What a great point- That is surely an overlooked item for most homes and yet (especially if it's at the curb) it will be the first point of impression for buyers.  Thanks for sharing!

Maine winter snowplows are heck on mailboxes and real estate signs unless you move them back a tad.

Interesting point- I guess that is a continuation of  curb appeal,   It does make sense to pay attention to the mail box as well.

Dear Dan - I had in my head a few weeks ago to write a blog just on mailboxes, as it is one of the items that I focus on with the curb & there are several options to choose from...I wanted to give an example of the selections.  Great Post & you were reading my mind. I may re-blog & add that to your as just some features?  Excellent item that gets overlooked & can assist appeal. Thank you for posting.

The 'mail box' is one of the first things that the buyer will see, make a good impression.
