KTEC moving forward in Rathdrum

Today, I had a meeting with Mark Cotner, Director of the new KTEC School. KTEC is under construction in Rathdrum and there are some exciting things going to be happening out on the prairie. They are going to start with 8 or 9 programs in the fall of 2012. Courses will be in automotive, diesel, industrial welding & fabrication, manufacturing, engineering (electronic, electrical, hydraulics, CAD design, & machinery) nursing, and construction trades. By January we should be able see the building, right now they have been doing site prep work (moving dirt). The location of the new KTEC School is on the southwest corner of Lancaster and Meyer road in Rathdrum. The purpose of the school is to provide students with a marketable skill and the ability to get a job after completing a program. The hiring of instructors will begin in spring of 2012.
