Random pre-video musings while munching on a pizza...
Today while poking around on Amazon.com I noticed they announced a new benefit for Kindle owners with an Amazon Prime membership: the Kindle Owners’ Lending Library.
According to Amazon: "Kindle owners can now choose from thousands of books to borrow for free, including over 100 current and former New York Times Bestsellers — as frequently as a book a month, with no due dates. No other e-reader or ebook store offers such a service."
I think that's kind of cool. Makes me want to go out and get a Kindle instead of use the Kindle app on my Android and laptop (silly grin).
I love being a bookaholic and can't wait to see what author goodies are in store for participants at Readers and Ritas 2011.
I keep grinning about the fact that I am staying with Melodious for a week. I've been having some of the best Facebook chats ever with some of my fave bloggers from TX. Mel is gonna teach me how to cook authentic Tex Mex in her kitchen. I'm like a kid with a cool cooking mentor itching to get started on creating an 8 minute webisode. I like hanging out in kitchens with my laptop. There will definitely be YouTubes of this (LOL).
I may even post her cooking class on Amazon. My Musician Artist Central page is now authorized for video. What were they thinking? (evil grin) Do you know I can now pimp any original video I create through my label over there? My reps have uploaded three of my video creations directly onto their server so far.
Think of all the real estate possibilities people. Five artists on my record label equals five prime spots for PG-13 video mischief (like the books, people, places, things, food and houses I like - LOL). Life With Wee People will be coming to Amazon in 2012 (happy sigh). The kids will love this. We're still working on their childrens' books and now they can be wee people videos on their landing page when we set it up as well (wicked little grin).
Right now, I'm pimping two books and a vacation slide show. This is going to be mad fun when I improve my editing skills and up the special effects. The Artist Central dashboard allows the label representatives/artists to specify how long a video can run or stay available (until further authorize/de-authorize action). We can even feature which video will be the default one you see when you hit the Amazon landing page.
Don't ask for advertising space 'cause I ain't doing that, I only endorse the stuff I like and do that for free. This is just me having some fun with the help of my talented friends and letting you guys know I can upload digital film there and in iTunes.
P.S.: If we're already social media buddies expect to have some fun with me because I've already started creating new original content and don't plan on stopping any time soon. We all know how much I love my Realtor and Author buddies. They are so gonna be teased over there (the traffic is massive - LOL).
Wait until I become a published author. I'll have an official Amazon author page as well. I wonder what that dashboard will look like and how much digital space I'll have to play with. I plan on keeping my social media peeps very busy because I'm also starting a podcast (evil grin). Yup. Already uploaded an audio track to test the audio space on my music landing page.
Thank you for the new social media tools Amazon. Very cool, indeed. They even gave us a blog forum to talk to you guys. I've yet to start a discussion over there. I do most of that in Skype, Facebook and Twitter (not to mention here - LOL). ;-)
