Stockings For Soldiers
The elves are busy in Delaware and surrounding states so that stockings can be shipped to our soldiers overseas in time for the holidays. Last year, over 9,000 stockings were stuffed with toiletries, books, videos and cds, candy, non-perishable food, socks, homemade greeting cards, snowman soup, etc. and accompanied by blankets and hand-knit wool caps.
How can you help? We're still staging all the things that go inside the stockings so we need things gathered. If you live in the area, you can schedule a time to come help physically, too. Housed in a large vacant office in a shopping center, volunteers will be at the facility from now until the end of the month.
It's an amazing thing to watch the assembly line once it starts. The system is precise so that a set number of stockings fit inside each shipping box and then off they go, sending our love and prayers abroad.
You can visit the website to see what's needed or to sign-up to help.

If you're out of state and want to help, you can make financial donations or you can ship your items to the local contact. If in doubt, you can send me a message and I'll get you connected.
As Project Coordinator, Judy Travis, says, "Stop by once, stop by twice or as often as you want . . . and stay as long as you want. But be forewarned: the joy and satisfaction you’ll receive from being a Stockings for Soldiers “Elf” is addictive . . . you’ll keep coming back for more!"
