If you didn’t think I was a nerd before you will definitely think I am a nerd after this! If I had three extra hours a week I would just read! Not trade publications or AR (no offense) but just a book. Any book! Mysteries , autobiographies, history, romance, non-fiction, relationship books, self-help, cookbooks. Nothing is out of the question because I love to read most anything. There is just something about being able to disappear into a book and escape reality or to learn something you didn’t know. Books engage my mind while television never has. I fondly remember back before I had kids crawling in the bed after work and reading until I feel asleep. There is no question that after my kids leave the nest there will be no cable at my house! I can without a doubt live very contently with internet, NPR and internet radio! I am a little old school though because I don’t really like the e-readers! I love nothing more then to hunt for treasures at the bookstore downtown. They have new books and used books and on any topic that you could possibly think of! There is just something about holding a book in your hand and call me crazy but I even like the smell of old books! I have tried to pare down my collection but it seems the more books I read the more that I find I have to keep! Books are my friends and you just can’t give away a good friend can you? This is what I would like to do with some spare time. Now where can I find some of this spare time!?
