Yogi Berra VS Hank Aaron

Yogi Berra VS Hank Aaron

I have not verified this story to be true but never the less the meaning will be the same.

As the story goes Yogi Berra was giving some pointers to Hank Aaron as he (Aaron) was getting ready to go bat.  Yogi told Hank he as holding the bat wrong and to hold it where he (Aaron) could read the writing.   Hank didn’t say anything just went out to the batter’s box and swung on the first pitch and a called “Strike” went out.  On the second pitch Hank hit one out to the left outfield and out of sight a home run.  As Hank rounded third base and was in the home stretch he looked over at Yogi and stated “I came here to play ball not to read.”

That got my attention and I ask you did you or will you go to work today wanting to read or to play the game of the real estate agent.  We being independent contractors have the choice of playing or setting on the side lines.  What say you?

Hi James,

A very good story verified or not.

I come to play, not sit on the bench. I just got four inspections when I opened my mail this morning.

Whew, I thought I was going to be off this weekend. But then again I'm "off" everyday. LOL

Have a good day in N.W. Arkansas my friend.

Best, Clint McKie

There is an old saying: "Ready, aim, fire." Most agents spend too much time aiming and never fire. I say "Ready, fire." May miss a few, but I make it up in volume!

Many of us need to get back into the game if we are going to reach our goals for the year.  Good to see that you are going full steam during the holidays while others take a break.

Today, November 10, 2011, we celebrate the 236th birthday of the United States Marine Corps.  During this season of Thanksgiving, we are thankful for every individual that serves our country.

Hi James - So many agents fail because they can pull the closing trigger.

James ~ you made a valid point here.  And if the story is not true, it still is a great analogy.
