How To Build Links And Drive Traffic To Your Blog
I came across this blog and thought it was a good resource for free blogging sites. Blogging is a great way to inform your clientele of new market information, products, or a self-rewarding plug about your business.
Every Business Owner, Network Marketer And Non-Profit Group Needs A Blog
Whether you own a traditional business, manage a non-profit group or run a network marketing sales organization, you most likely have a blog. And if you don't, then stop reading this and go get yourself one right now, then come back... I'll wait ; )
Drive Traffic and Build Links To Your Blog
Putting up great content and using all of the SEO tricks in your bag are necessary to attract readers online. However, there are other, additional ways to drive traffic to your blog, and more important, to build back links to your blog. One of these ways is to list your blog on blog directories.
What Are Blog Directories?
Blog directories are sites that list blogs on the internet, in easy to filter categories, based on their content and purpose.
Not All Blog Directories Are Created Equal
While this might sound like an easy fix, it's not. Some of these sites are free, but many are not, and you really need to investigate to determine if each blog directory is worth your time, and possibly, a reciprocal link or badge on your blog. Trust me when I say that not all blog directories are created equal, and there are some that you'll want to avoid.
What You'll Need To List Your Blog On Blog Directories
Blog directories require a bit of information, prior to publishing your blog on their site. This typically includes the URL address to your blog, your name, a description of your blog, and possibly the RSS feed URL address.
TIPS:
- To supply the most accurate links possible, log onto your blog and copy the addresses straight from the URL address bar, then paste it into the appropriate field.
- To find your RSS feed link, log onto the home page of your blog, as a consumer would (not as an admin), then click on the RSS icon in your toolbar and you should see 2 options- RSS feed, and RSS comments. Click on the RSS feed link. When you're logged into the RSS feed page, copy the address that appears in the URL address bar and paste in the appropriate field on the blog directory submission form.
- Write a short description of your blog content on a Word Doc, then save and copy into the appropriate fields on the blog directories. This description will need to be edited for some directories, as the word count could anywhere from 100 to 1000 characters. Remember to use good keywords in the description, without "keyword stuffing" and making it sound like a bullet point list.
Feedback And Additions Welcome
Below, is a list of blog directories that I've been referred to, heard of, or have found in my internet travels. I'm certain that there are more out there, and if you know of any others that you've had a good or bad experience with, please submit your feedback in the comment section below this blog post. I'd be happy to host it as a guest post on my site, with a back link to your blog, or to just supplement the information that I've provided here- whichever you'd prefer. It would also be great to receive feedback on the directories listed below, good or bad.
