Apparently, it's official. Medford is FINALLY getting a Trader Joe's!

Southern Oregon has been yearning for a Trader Joe's for years now.  Rumors have circulated in the past as to when and where one would be located, but it sounds like, it's official; Southern Oregon will now be home to a new Trader Joe's!

Ground work has started where the new Northgate Shopping Center is going in.  Personally, I wish they weren't building yet another strip mall.  I'd much prefer they revitalize one of our already existing malls, but nonetheless, I'm thrilled that Trader Joe's is finally going to have a home here in Medford.

Preliminary announcements suggest it will be completed July of 2012.  Perfect timing for me to stock up on a summer supply of Two Buck Chuck!  :-)

I LOVE Trader Joes & have for years!!  They were just on a television special along side Whole Foods...them bit a tad more competitive $ wise & America's need for Healthy eating & supporting local farmers.  I wish we would get one here.  I just did a blog about them about a week ago when I was in LA.  Congratulations!  Life is Good :) (or will be more so)

Thanks Pam!  The closest one to us is several hours north.  Anytime we're traveling I beg hubby to stop in Eugene for a "stock up".  lol   They have great product there.  This is a real boon for our area.  Hope one day you'll get one in your area.  Thanks and all the best to you!

Hi Carlotta!  You're right...can't have everything, but an hour away isn't "too" bad.  Thanks for the visit!

Hi Will!  For whatever reason they are mostly focussed on the west and east coasts.  Appears the mid-west is somewhat ignored.  You have a terrific day yourself!

I'll bet you are excited. My husband's excited to stop by a New Seasons after work, that just opened this week. We also shop at Traders Joes, Whole Foods, Fred Meyer and Costco.  Each one gets a bit of our business.

I'm with  you on the strip malls - surely  we could spend the rest of our days without seeing a new one built and there would be plenty "empty space" available for new businesses.

Hey there, Debb!  I've never heard of New Seasons.  I think our next trip north may warrant a stop for sure! We too are Freddy and Costco shoppers too.  Seems to be weekly excursions to both!

Yea, just down the street from my office is the Medford Shopping Center.  It's anchor store is Sears.  So many of the other businesses have died there.  There's a large space right next to Sears that would have (in my opinion) been a great location for Trader Joe's.  Alas...guess the planning committee wasn't dialed into my pee brain.

Thanks for the visit and have a great afternoon!

Every city deserves a Trader Joe's!! I also agree that it would be nice to see many cities promoting revitalization of shopping centers.
