On my Facebook Today - These stats would put Occupy in a spin

Wages Facebook Wall

I try not to share anything too poorly received as we need the upbeat more than the negative....this just set me back on my heels a little.  I know it is true.  I didn't realize all of these positions got paid for "life"??

It is from my Facebook Wall, someone had shared.  (I couldn't hit the like button on this one & they have not put up an "dislike button" yet?)

I guess you will have to click the link to see the photo but it has these stats, my screen is not too clear a snap shot - Just not too encouraging....I would imagine that it would send "Occupy" in a spin....  IMHO  I think that more of us should be writing in to our officials about such matters the impact us economically.

I understand the responsibilities while in office & some positions such as the President once they leave office (their job doesn't fully end...but "Senate, House, Minority Leaders for Life"???

Something for our Thoughtful Thursday, Veteran's Day & after giving "hugs"

It has not been a banner day with some other news either, my heart aches in more ways than one.....so I am definitely trying to focus on the positive outside of these types of matters.

My family is where I am going to try to focus the rest of my evening as they need some of me today, Night Heart

Pam, This does make you stop and think.  It would be nice if our leaders did not totally take advantage of their positions -- but unfortunately Politicians and government officials seem to have taken advantage of their positions,  The photo you saw is just the tip of the iceberg. I re-blogged a post the other day about government officials that was even more shocking than this:

HI Pam: first of all I hope you and your family are okay!? Secondly, these stats are just sickening - yep, I have to say the average mil. pay is true. There are some "special pays" while deployed but they do not even begin to cover what they are supposed to compensate for, for example $150/month family separation pay after the first 30 days - let me see by how much my babysitting and childcare expenses shoot up when hubby is deployed - this may cover a day or two. Anyway.. you know I could go on about this, but it is sickening.

Have a great weekend!

Dear Andrea - I can imagine!! :(  I am sorry...I guess when I saw this, "shocked" was the only word that came to mind.  I mean you know that SS isn't much, etc., but to military so low & then to have these for life??!!  The President is the only one that I can see that his duties never really end once they leave office...but the rest (I disagree).

So for how many decades are these figures rolling forward??  I am so sorry for your family & all military families & those that are even at the bottom.  How can those guys sleep at night??

Hugs, my family is okay.  Just a LOT going on, plus I had a routine thing this week.  Sorry I am a little behind, but have tried to keep up.  Thanks so much for visiting!!  How was there BIG event??!!  Hugs & night...I am away working tonight & just got in.
