Congratulations to all of the schools who participated in the 2011 Student Hunger Drive.  The kids from 19 area high schools were able to collect over 750,000 pounds of food.  This was the 26th year of the event that includes schools from Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois.

United Township High School in East Moline, IL and Bettendorf High School Bettendorf, IA led the way.

I think this is a wonderful program that seems to grow every year.  It's fuels competition for a great cause.  Great job by all the kids!

I grew up in the Quad Cities. I'm glad to see the high schools coming together for such a great cause.
