Sunset Key the Luxury Neighborhood in Key West
Sunset Key is my escape from the hustle and bustle of Key West it is an exclusive island built by the Navy from dredging the Key West Harbor. Originally called Tank Island, the island was renamed Sunset Key after a developer bought it at a public auction in 1986. I attended this auction and watched the entire property including the property of Truman Annex sell for 9 million dollars. Such a deal!
Prices now start at $1,800,000.00 for this very exclusive community. The houses have referenced the historical "Conch House" of Key West.
Getting to the island is easy. There is a 24 hour boat that shuttles back and forth from Key West. Owners can schedule a shuttle and have the boat at the dock for their convenience. Living on the island affords the ultimate privileged life. Residents have all the amenities offered by the Westin Resort. My favorite is room service from Latitudes restaurant. Eat at home without the work. Having a home on Sunset Key is like living in a resort. Stay at home, go to the beach, and eat under the stars or sky at a world class restaurant all within a short walk.
Among the many conveniences offered to residences is grocery delivery, maid service, concierge service, 2 tennis courts, Flippers Poor Bar, spa services, private docks for up to a 250 foot boat and of course your own white sand beach.
Unless you are visiting a friend visitors are restricted to the restaurant Latitudes, the Gift Shop or The Spa at Sunset Key.
