Speechless Sunday: "The Temple of the Silver Pavillion", Kyoto, Japan

What better time to inaugurate my presence in the new AR Sunrises & Sunsets Group than my current trip to Kyoto City, Japan.  The photo below (taken today - Sunday, November 13) looks out over the top of Ginkakuji Temple, a zen temple established in 1482.

City of Kyoto, Japan

Just to provide proof that this photo is actually real, below I sit in the doorway of one of the homes just outside "The Temple of the Silver Pavillion" (Ginkakuji Temple) considered "the creation of the soul of Japan".  The famous Japanese Gardens are believed to have originated from this site.

This is an experience of a lifetime to say nothing of the ideas I've garnered for my own little rock gardens in Sandpoint, Idaho!

You are so lucky! This is a once in a lifetime experience. I hope to make it to the Silver Pavilion one day.

That is great!

I have always wanted to go to Japan. My brother used to be stationed in Japan for the Marines and I remember him always bragging about it being so beautiful. This picture is amazing and thanks for sharing.

Good morning Kent. Your pictures are fabulous and I am tempted to immediately book a flight to Japan, a place I have never been but always longed to see. Clearly you are enjoying yourself and that is great. Must be a good holiday because todays date is Nov 13th, nor the 20th. Thanks for sharing your bliss.

Hey Rick!  Great to hear from you.  You've been over here for 3  months & you haven't made it over to The Silver Pavilion yet?

Hi John - I'll bet he was stationed in Okanawa.  I haven't been there but I do know it's another Hawaii.

Hi Sheila - Good call.  I'm so messed up with the dates & times over here.  It'll be Monday in 1/2 hour & everyone is just waking up on Sunday stateside.  I'm correcting the date in my blog.

Kent, I've never been to Japan but I think you've captured what I believe Japan would feel like in your photo.
