Lebanon's Christmas Festival Horse Drawn Carriage Parade December 3 2011
Nothing will get you more into the Christmas spirit than a visit to the 23rd Annual Lebanon Christmas Festival Horse Drawn Carriage Parade on December 3rd 2011. With a parade at 1 p.m. and a repeat performance at 7 p.m. with candlelight, we're talking in the neighborhood of 100 horse drawn carriages. We've got everything from little ponies to the big draft horses pulling decorated carriages. And who knows, there might be some snow flurries like last year to add to the festive atmosphere!
We expect another sizable turn-out, but why wouldn't we? This is a family holiday tradition for our area. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be wandering the area providing photo ops! Vendors will have hot chocolate and food to keep you warm. A few character actors in historic garb signing Christmas carols add to the atmosphere. This is a guaranteed enjoyable time!
And if you want to get some Christmas shopping done, the downtown shops will be more than happy to exchange some of their merchandise for your greenbacks and electronic swipes!
Now as far as parking, there are some public lots for free, but don't expect those spots to last long! You'll also have some capitalists charging for parking nearby (typically around $5), or you can park on the residential streets for free, but expect to spend a little time cruising looking for an open spot and have your walking shoes on!
Lots of people bring their collapsible chairs and grab a spot on Broadway for prime viewing, that the route boxes around downtown, so there are other spots that will work for watching the show!
So dress warm and have a great time at the parade!
