Contractual Agreements and Family Obligations. Are You Cheating?

I get your call during floor time and you ask some information about a home. It turns out you want to see it later. It is not my personal listing but a colleagues, so yes that is fine. I do my normal spiel and ask if you are working with any other agents and you say no. The showing comes and the showing goes and you say you love the house. I try to call you later to check in and never can contact you again. Your not cheating on me are you??

I meet you at open house and we chat for an hour. You want to know more about listings in the neighborhood. I ask if you would like a customer portal to see the newest listings and you are excited about the possibility. Great I love your excitement it makes me job fun! I set up your portal and then I never hear from you again. Your not cheating on me are you?

I get a call off of my website since I offer a free Comparative Market Analysis. I come and meet you and look at your home. It is a beautiful place! I go home and take an hour or two to do the report. Then I come back later to present it. I leave my hard work behind and leave with a good feeling. I later drive by and see a sign with your same last name on it. Your not cheating on me are you??

As much as I love to help you I really don’t like finding out that you called me just because your agent wouldn’t answer their phone exactly that minute.  As much as I love to talk to you and let you know about our market conditions if you have no intention of opening up the email to get into the client portal please let me know! They take time to set up that I could use to do something else that needs done. If you have no intention to use me to list and already know that you are going to list with Aunt Jeanie then please don’t use me to double check her numbers.

As much as I love my job I do not like feeling like a tool! My car takes gas and I have to pay for it just like you. The time I am working on your assignment is time I could be working for actual clients whom I have relationships with. I also have this thing called a family who would kind of like to see me as well. Time is money and we only have a limited supply of both! So please don’t cheat!
