Feature Article:    Take Time to Grieve

To remember and be remembered are natural human needs. Every senior has the opportunity to plan the final footprint she or he leaves on this earth.

A way to ensure those wishes are known and respected, a senior can pre-arrange their funeral.

Ask The Experts: Can Depression Mimic Dementia ....?Maturity Matters newsletter, for Seniors and Boomers for Greater Victoria

A. Last month when I wrote about dementia, I mentioned that there are a number of conditions other than dementia that also interfere with normal brain function.

In this article I would like to explore depression as it is experienced by seniors because a major depression can significantly affect thinking and mental processing to the extent that it can mimic dementia in many ways.

Peter and Linda, I talked with you earlier about Seniors affiliation, but never got around to it.  I will have to put it in my business plan for 2012.  I really like what you do.

HI Chris,

We find it very rewarding, and may be because we are boomers ourselves, that we have a better grasp on the issues now compared to years ago.

CPCA is by far the best and usable education that we have seen for working with seniors (although it is not real estate specific) here is a link to their website http://www.cpcacanada.com/index.html

If you take the course, please use my name as they will give us a few educational credits for it, thanks

Hi Joni,

We love their education, their information for us as member and service provider, but most importantly the information and education is a real eye opener and can really make a difference in the lifes of our clients....

In the USA the course is called Certified Senior Advisor and their American website is http://www.csa.us/.

It is excellent (not cheap and quick) but very helpful, truly educational and huge benefits to how we work and think

Peter & Linda -- I LOVE this newsletter.  Articles are interesting, easy reads, and so informative. I had to go right for that strawberry muffin recipe. Will definitely be making that! I may be contacting you at some point about integrating something like this into my 55+ posts, which I have in my plan, but just can't seem to get to. will do in 2012. BTW, I love that old time pic of the two of you!
