Live Highlands Ranch : A Season of Giving : Denver Rescue Mission Needs Turkeys
The countdown to Thanksgiving has begun, but The Denver Rescue Mission is well short of the its turkey needs for this Thanksgiving season. Just a few years ago 6,000 turkeys would get them through, however with the difficult time so many are experiencing, the need has increased and this year's goal is to have 10,000 turkeys donated before Thanksgiving.
The freezer at the Mission’s Ministry Outreach Centeris currently filled with 298 turkeys. In just days, the Mission will give out 1,250 Thanksgiving food boxes to families, including a turkey. About 80 churches and non-profit organizations have requested nearly 10,000 turkeys to feed men, women and children in our community. They need our support!
If you can help out, please drop off turkeys 12 pounds or larger at the Lawrence Street Shelter, 1130 Park Avenue Westin downtown Denver.
