The best new technology tool = Disney's IdeaPad

As a national real estate trainer, Realtors are continously asking me which is the best laptop, computer or "pad" to buy.  The answer depends on your sophistication level, budget and needs.

I have been using Tablet PC's for nearly 10 years starting with a Gateway, then an HP, then an iPad.

The learning curve for some non technical agents is rather steep so maybe the best thing to do is start slow and work your way up.  The best technology tool I found to help was at the recent National Association of Realtor's convention in Anaheim, California!

I was taking a "train the trainer" class for REBAC at Disney's Grand California Hotel when I was shocked that the wonderful people at Disney were giving away their newest creation - Disney's new "IdeaPad"!  It competes with the HP TouchPad, the various Android Pads and the iPad. However, Disney's version has unlimited battery life, can work on airplanes without restriction during take off and landings, plus it has a really cool "always on" feature.

I am not sure if I am allowed to release the "technical specs" of this wonderful new tool, so here is a photo. The main downside is you have to provide your own stylus when the one they provided runs out of ink.

Disney IdeaPad

I will be doing lots of real estate training in 2012 for REBAC including the SRES Designation, ePRO, BPOR, AHWD, and others.  If  you take a course from me, maybe I will see if I can score you one of these great tools as a bonus.  I will be doing these via my new training subsidiary - ProFound Seminars, LLC

How could a stylus run out of ink?  Well, anyway, it looks interesting.

Hi Jim - How do you download the manual for that thing? Does it come in different colors? Is it true that Huey, Dewey and Louie are Donald and Daisy's illegitimate children?

@Ron, you have to realize my mind is kind of like SIRI (Artificial Intelligence).

@ Kerrie, thanks - great to see you there again.  Too bad AR didn't have a social like we did in New Orleans.  Maybe we should start planning for Orlando's event next year?

@Dick, you download it "manually".  This release appeared to only come in the one design.  I can't comment on Disney characters in fear of their attorneys suing me for defamation of "character". ;)

Hey Jim -

I must say I had a good chuckle at Dick's remarks and your answer to him.  A good LOL is always the best way to begin the day!

Enjoy your day to the fullest and best regards from the Q

@John,  Glad I was able to make your day a bit brighter.  I just noticed, you don't have any "P's" in your "Q's".  I guess that is the best way not to confuse the two!

John - I think the IdeaPad won't crash either. I love the fact that they function everytime you need them. :)

@Mike, great points!  I have never heard of someone getting their data corrupted by a virus on one either!
