Staging includes the yard and outbuildings!

I see the blogs for staging a home.  But, seldom do I see the staging follow through to the garage or the outbuildings.

In some ways, they are just as important and sometimes even more so for some people.

I will agree, that is the wife doesn't care for the house the deal is off!  But, you may be dealing with a single guy and he could care less about the souse...he wants to see the garage and outbuildings.

If these are not orderly it can also turn that guy away.

Some people will also spend all their time on the yard.  Inside the home may be a cluttered mess, but the yard is pristine.

Staging is a delicate balance.  We just need to remember to do it all.

You are oh so right on this point! I had a "before" and "after" with staging of the interior of a garage - and it wow'd the people coming through my open house, sold that day. They added steel shelving, hanging arrangments for the garden tools, painted the floor with special cement garage floor paint - it looked great. A little work can go a long way.

Willaim- I surprise most of my Sellers when I head towards their garage.  Yikes! But I tell them that a Buyer has to actually see that the garage will hold 1 or 2 cars, not take your word for it.  Many think that they can shove everything in the garage but not true.  And, with the back patio area, this is very important especially since we're in Florida.  I let them know that all of the tools, toys, and yard "stuff" should go.  You are very right... it all has to be in "show" condition.

Bill...

Buyers see the outside of a house first, so it needs to make a good first impression!

Bill curb appeal is very important.  It also shows pride in ownership!

Bill, the hobby farmer seams to be the worse at times.  He will have so much stuff, but not always the money to have enough storage.  Also, the farming part takes up a lot of time, more than most realize!
