Who Stacked These Rocks Up?

I was on the west side of town with my business partner Will the other day and luckily I had my camera with me.  There is always something interesting to see in Colorful Colorado.

We came across a rock formation that I felt was worthy of being shared with everyone.

rocks

It looks like someone came along and stacked the rocks on top of each other.  The top one looks a bit precarious, but I’m sure they aren’t in jeopardy of falling over just because of the mere size of them.  When I look at this formation, I think of the cartoon Shrek.  I can just see that big guy coming by and stacking up the rocks.  Ok, maybe a little too much time at the grandkids house.

Hi Belinda -

Mother Nature is so cool.  We love rocks and climbing around on them at each opportunity.  Glad you got Will to stop so you could snap this great shot.

Enjoy today to the fullest and best regards from the Q

I grew up in a place with mountains but now I live in Chicago - flat flat flat.  I miss these kinds of sights - you are so lucky to live in such a beautiful place!

Belinda,  You see, the mountains are fun, so you always say you would love to be at the ocean, see what you would be missing.

Thanks for sharing your photograph. I think Will must have stacked those rocks.

Enjoy the season of Thanksgiving and be sure to have your camera in hand to record those special moments.

Hi Belinda. I am always amazed at some of the wonders of nature. This is very original, since I have never seen anything like it. BTW, it's okay to spend all that quality time with your Grandkids too.

Belinda it's so fun checking out the amazing rock formations - I used to to that too when I lived there.  One place reminded me of planet of the apes....I could just see them hiding up there!

Hi Belinda, I am glad you stopped and took the time to capture this interesting picture.  Those are some odd shaped rocks.  Love how blue the sky is behind them.  Have a great evening!

Hi Belinda,

I never noticed the beauty around me until I became a photoblogger. Mother Nature beautifies the drab terrain with sprigs of color here and there. When you see huge rock formations like your fantastic photos, you wonder how they got there and how long they have been. Like Stonehedge...no man could have placed them there so then we have to ask ourselves who placed them there? Great pictures!

Hi Belinda...There's so much natural beauty surrounding us.  The more we take the time to notice the more we see.  As Kristin wrote, a handy camera is the best thing to have.  You captured a neat example with your stacked rocks and now you're able to share that with us.

I will always love Colorado. I want to come back for a long visit, one day soon. If my entire family would move up there there with me I would come set up shop.
