Yesterday a past client called and said her sister and brother-in-law were in town for the weekend and asked if I would show them some homes in her neighborhood today. I was already committed to 2 other clients and it was Sunday... the one day a week I try to keep free, for me.
We all need a day to catch up-- do laundry, watch football, make family calls, cook, blog, paint, garden, play golf... live.
But this is our "season" ... the time when snowbirds return and people start returning to the desert for the sunshine and warm weather. Now is when we need to ready to take advantage of opportunities.
My friend/past client lives in a lower-end family neighborhood-- and there was only one home available for sale... and it was a short-sale. I almost decided to ask them to call me the next time they were in town. Honestly, I really didn't see anything promising coming from this short-notice meeting.
Much to my surprise, my client's sister and brother-in-law did not want to move to the desert from LA JOLLA... they were interested in finding investment properties (plural). Great news for me! I have been working with investors everyday for the last few months and know the best places and homes in our area for investing.
My new clients gave me all of their contact info and headed back over the hill to La Jolla -- confident that I will be able to find them and their other investors the best deals with the return on investment they seek.
Clients are like a box of chocolates... you never know what you are going to get. But you can't be reluctant to open the box!
