Happy Thanksgiving!

Real Estate Agent with Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage

With Thanksgiving coming up this week I know it’s probably the hokey to recap the things you are thankful for but I’m going to do it anyway.  Our year has gone by so fast we and we get so busy that we don’t take the time to be thankful so perhaps this is a good thing.

From the business side, I’m thankful that Congress decided to reinstate the FHA loan limits to $729,750.  Our market does quite a bit of business in this price point so that certainly had an effect on our marketplace.  I’m also thankful that year-to-date average sales prices have increased 4.24% for our area.  With so much negativity in the media about the housing market, it’s important that I remind our agents that real estate is local so we can’t focus on national real estate statistics.  You certainly have to be thankful that our inventory continues to decrease.  We are at our lowest levels since July 2005.  Many of the agents tell me there isn’t much good inventory out there.  And what does show well and is priced right, moves quickly. (sometimes with multiple offers)  Not bad for a “terrible” market.

I must admit it’s been a great year personally.  I work for a wonderful company that offers me and my agents everything they need to be successful.  My wife (who is awesome!) and I had a daughter who is 5 ½ months and is wonderful!  A much different experience and feeling than I thought I’d ever have.  I love being a dad!

So I hope you can find something to be thankful for.

Have a safe and Happy Thanksgiving!
