An Attitude of Gratitude! Have You Met Tim Wolf?
Anyone who spends much time out & about in Rockwall County will surely have seen or met Tim Wolf. Shhhh, don't tell anyone, but Tim is not a native of Rockwall or even Texas. He was born in Hershey, Pennsylvania and went home to Mamaroneck, New York with parents, Jerry and Mickey Wolf, three days later. After college and the Merchant Marines, Tim moved to the Dallas area working as a paramedic before coming to Rockwall. Tim grew up learning to navigate Manhattan so it is little wonder that he quickly learned how to get around in Rockwall County like a native, even those often unmarked back roads.
Tim Wolf settled into his new hometown of Rockwall, a world apart from New York and Manhattan, and quickly became part of the local business and community scene. Briefly, he is the majority owner of Rockwall County EMS, half owner of a real estate company, RE/MAX Hometown, and owner and developer of Apps4EMS, LLC. His educational background in para-medicine and the Merchant Marine Program at A & M in Galveston blends perfectly with a history rich in business development.
A familiar sight throughout Rockwall County are the emergency vehicles from Rockwall County EMS. Click on the photo for an 8 second video.
Tim Wolf's Attitude of Gratitude. The hardest part of writing about Tim's Attitude of Gratitude was selecting only a few of the many things he does through the year as well as selecting only a few of the many pictures.
Tim Wolf quietly promotes many causes throughout the year in addition to being the "go to" person for many individuals, including friends and family. Meeting Tim Wolf for the first time you might think Tim is a native of Rockwall and Texas because he is in tune with everything that happens in the area. Well, the Texas twang is missing from his speech and his dry sense of humor is a little different, but it is easy to see that Tim Wolf does know and support the community of Rockwall.
Tim blends his personal life and passions into a true attitude of gratitude. Family is always high on the list of Tim's priorities. Wife, Elizabeth "Liz", enjoys the same passions for Tim's favorite causes and her professional life as a nurse practitioner fits perfectly with Tim's medical career. Tim and Liz can be seen all around Rockwall walking their two Siberian Huskies, Lena and Romeo. Daughter, Danna, followed in the footsteps of Tim and Liz becoming a Registered Nurse at a local hospital. Tim uses his personal airplane, a Mooney, to fly for business, pleasure and volunteering and considers any day he is flying is a good day.
Pilot'nPaws is a a non-profit organization that rescues dogs from kill shelters, many within hours of their "execution" time, and delivers them to no-kill shelters or foster homes, or in the best of all situations to their "forever homes". Tim especially likes being able to assist with rescuing these dogs and enjoy flying at the same time.
Patriot Paws, also a non-profit organization, that uses women prisoners to learn to train service dogs for veterans of war so the women will have a trade when released from prison. The veterans come from a very long list of those in need, and are carefully screened for their needs before the dogs are trained, so their particular needs will be met by the dogs. The dogs are matched to their vet before they are trained, and are also a big part of the training. Tim flies the dogs back and forth to the prison, as well as flies the director and dogs to the veterans' homes. Tim provides whatever needs to be done to get the dogs and the veterans settled.
Angel Flight, also know as Grace Flight, is a non-profit organization which arranges flights for cancer patients to and from facilities for their cancer treatments. Many of the patients are too sick to make the long drive from rural areas or could not afford transportation costs. There are not any pictures because of patient privacy.
Another volunteer program that is near to Tim's heart are the mission trips delivering Christmas gifts to children in Mexico, as well as medical/dental trips. Both Tim and Liz have fond memories of the beautiful smiling faces of the children as they stood in line for their gifts opening them with squeals of delight. One Christmas Mission trip involved 11 planes taking off for Mexico to deliver 2700 presents for children. Getting through customs required the unloading and x-rays of all the packages. A highlight of the trip was when local teens presented a special program in appreciation.
These are a few of Tim Wolf's favorite causes. Talking to Tim, he quickly makes it clear that these causes are supported by an awesome collection of other volunteers who share their attitudes of gratitude and passions for these unique causes. A love of flying, animals, Rockwall and just doing the right thing are ties that bind many of these volunteers together.
When asked to select the person who exemplifies an "Attitude of Gratitude", doing extraordinary things to enrich and help their fellow community members, my choice was easy. Tim Wolf clearly exudes a humble spirit with a zealous enthusiasm of giving back to the community of Rockwall. Tim leads a busy life but always seems to find the time to offer help. Tim likes to play hard, traveling with Liz, playing hockey, loves dog sledding, movies, boating, deep sea fishing and dining out. Tim also cooks a mean steak and burgers pool side at their home in Rockwall. Tim works hard and his involvement with ownership of three companies takes much of his time.
Tim Wolf is an example of that old saying, "Ask a busy person if you want something done right". Ask Tim and consider it done! Haven't met Tim Wolf yet? He is easy to find, he is everywhere! He is easy to spot on the land (Rockwall County roads), in the air flying his Mooney, on the hockey rink, on the water, at the movies, dining in the locally owned restaurants, visiting family and friends at the hospitals, hosting family events at the last minute, shopping (yes, the man even shops!) and walking his dogs. It is rumored that the man keeps fresh flowers at all times for his wife. Who is this? Superman? No, this is my pick for the man about Rockwall with a big heart and huge attitude of gratitude, Tim Wolf.
Tim Wolf, family man, friend, professional business man, pilot, volunteer.....a really neat person!
