You have to sell. A question you might be considering is: do you go to market now or wait until the beginning of the new year? Well here are 10 reasons to put your house on the market and get ready for a move in the new year.
1. Your home looks absolutely great. The decorations are up, the cobwebs are down and the floors are squeaky clean. Staging at it's best!
2. There's less competition. Many homeowners take their homes off the market during the holidays and re-list them in the beginning of the new year. Would you rather have your home be one of the few properties to choose from or one of the many?
3. Only the most serious buyers are out looking at homes during the holidays. Think about it, only those with a sense of urgency are out in inclement weather.
4. Similar to #3- the Realtors are also making sure they are taking out the most qualified and motivated buyers. We value family time as well, but have sometimes been known to make appointments for the "right client"
5. Year-end bonuses are in...what that means for you is a qualified buyer with solid down-payments.
6. Relocation buyers are arriving in town with their significant others to make the final decisions on housing. The children are out of school and finally the trailing spouse has the opportunity to look at the top contenders and pick the right home for the family.
7. Buyers have more time and availability to view homes. Usually the week between Christmas and New Year's day offers individuals more flexible time away from the office to take a look at what is a available.
8. Buyers try to purchase before the end of the year in order to take advantage of the tax benefits.
9. Many of the service providers needed for the real estate transaction are available because business has slowed down. The handyman, the inspector, and the appraiser are usually not as busy during the holidays. So the buyer of your home will have more flexibility with making appointments.
10. Interest rates are at an all time low. Now is the perfect time to buy......and sell with the right agent!
