3 Fun Freebies at Disneyland and Disney's California Adventure
By Michelle Carr Crowe, Santa Clara County home selling expert
We all know a family vacation to Disneyland is expensive, but did you know there are actually quite a few fun and free things you can have or do in Disneyland and/or California Adventure, both located in beautiful Southern California? It's true.
Several of my clients reward their families with a Disneyland vacation once we sell their Silicon Valley homes, whether they are San Jose homes, Cupertino properties or Saratoga estates. It can be a great way to relax and celebrate success together.
Here is my first list of 3 Fun Freebies you can enjoy during your next vacation trip to Disneyland and/or Disney's California Adventure.
1. FREE CELEBRATION BUTTON. Pick up a free celebration pin from City Hall on Main Street in Disneyland or Guest Services at Disney's California Adventure. Just for the asking you can receive a Happy Birthday, Happy Anniversary, Just Married, Family Reunion, Happily Ever After or First Visit Button.
For young children, this can be especially exciting, as many Disney Cast Members make a point of commenting on the buttons. It adds to the family vacation fun when people they don't even know welcome them to the park (First Visit) or say Happy Birthday. Sometimes you may even get special recognition and treatment.
For example, one friend with a Happy Birthday button on received a free dessert at the Blue Bayou Restaurant, located within the Pirates of the Caribbean ride. Talk about a delicious birthday surprise!
*Note: As of November 25, 2011, both Disneyland and Disney's California Adventure were out of the I'm Celebrating button but I expect it will be re-ordered and available soon.
2. FREE COFFEE. Visit Market House on Main Street and just ask for your free coffee. Now I admit that Disney's house coffee does not work for someone as picky as me (who considers espresso to be the only "real coffee"). However, if you are visiting during Thanksgiving, Christmas or New Year's when even Southern California gets cold, a warm drink of any kind is very welcome. At the very least, it is a comforting hand-warmer.
3. FREE TORTILLA. This is probably the best kept secret at California Adventure. Anyone can ask for and receive a fresh, warm and delicious tortilla from the Mission Tortilla Factory Tour in Disney's California Adventure. If it's your birthday they even give you a free dozen!
We just returned from our annual Thanksgiving family vacation and family reunion at Disneyland and California Adventure. So look for more great free and fun tips for your family vacation here soon.
