Here is a checklist of the necessary documents needed by your lender to provide you with a pre-approval letter for your home search.

- W-2's and complete tax returns for the last 2 years, and pay stubs for the last 30 days
- 2 years corporate or partnership tax returns, if self-employed
- 2 months statements for checking, savings, money market, stocks, and other liquid assets (all pages), plus documentation for any large, unidentified deposits
- List of all current creditors, account numbers, balances and minimum payments
- Landlords for last 12 months, addresses and phone numbers
- Divorce decrees/child support agreements, (all pages) signed by judge
- Certified settlement statement for all recently sold real estate
- Proof free/clear ownership of any real estate owned and proof of taxes and insurance on all properties owned
- Current annual letter for social security, retirement, or disability income
- Recorded Bankruptcy papers and discharge, all pages
- Veterans: DD214 and certificate of eligibility and proof of disability % is any
- Current photo ID and social security card
