Feng Shui Tips on how to Reduce Arguments in your home by Laura Cerrano
It happens from time to time, mis-communication...maybe even an argument. But, do you notice a constant pattern? Do you notice a specific area in your home where these arguments keep taking place? Looking to Feng Shui and your home, your Feng Shui consultant can gain an understating from that perspective of why these situations are happening.
Looking to the five elements theory in Feng Shui, each element holds a certain characteristic. One that can be used for positivity but, understand to much of anything is never a good thing. The element of Fire for example, represents passion, expansion, expressiveness, stimulates and ignites energy!! To much fire can create aggression, destruction...and from a Feng Shui perspective, relate to potential arguments.
If you are noticing arguments, perhaps you have to much fire energy around that location. It can be in the form of actual fire (candles), the color red, a painting that feels aggressive, word art or even a photograph. If that is the case, leson the amount of fire in that area. Another element to balance Fire is Earth. Earth can be ceramics bowls, mugs, decorative plates, lamps, decorative items or an image of a mountain. Remember you can use colors on the wall or as accents on your furniture such as you see below. Colors that relate to Earth are Beige's, Browns and Yellows.

Even the style of furniture can contribute to more open communication. Nothing in nature is sharp, okay, except for a Cactus. But!, majority of all that is created is curved or rounded...even our cells inside of us! Looking to Feng Shui, when surrounded by furniture that has sharp corners you can literally get hurt. At the same time, Feng Shui says you are cutting chi within the home and of those who sit facing the direction of those edges.
Round and curved edges when purchasing furniture is a great way to go according to Feng Shui. Especially when you live in Manhattan studio apartments. If you cannot buy curved, soften the tables or chairs with chair cushions or simple table runners, cloth...anything to help calm the energy.
The kind of plants you add into your home play a role as well. Just as with the furniture, look for curved, soft leafed or rounded plants. Do not be afraid to add colorful ones too :) Plants are a natural life force and are great for generating fresh energy into your home!
Feng Shui crystals are another great way to promote better communication. Place a quarts crystal in the area of the home where you notice arguments unfolding. Understand your your crystals intention to to diffuse any current and potential arguments. you can use a sitting or hang crystal.
If hanging a crystal, cut a 9" red sting or ribbon, attached to the round 30mm crystal just as you see in the image above. Placement for this type of crystal is if you have a hallway with 3 or more doors. Hang from the center of the ceiling.
Now that you have added some Feng Shui adjustments, be sure to do the same with yourself. Be open to sharing and receiving information. When you speak with whom ever the arguments are happening with, do not jugged, just keep to the facts and see if you and that individual can come to an understanding with the situation. 99% of the time, these arguments are due to silly mis-communications and can be resolved in no time :) Also, if you are at fault, the best thing to do is admit it. You will gain more respect that way ;) No one is perfect, but we try to be.
