I am sure you will say "what? indecent behavior" those two things are not possible....well not at the Market Street Movie Theater. Ballet performance at the Market Street Theater

I have experienced great performance recorded at Bolshoi Theater in Moscow at my local movie theater. It was premier of The Sleeping Beauty (music by Peter Tchaikovsky) on the new (old) stage of Moscow, Bolshoi Theater reopened after 6 years of $700 million+ renovation about a month ago.

Beautiful costumes, outstanding performance of the Russian ballet, and great decoration...all on the big screen. It felt like I am on the first row in Bolshoi.

The performance is the part of FathomEvents where you can chose from opera, sports, and comedy recordings of original programming featuring the biggest names in radio and television . You have to check your local movie theaters. Very affordable! For example ticket cost to the Sleeping Beauty premier performance at Bolshoi theater in Moscow for 1-7 row ticket is $800 the cheapest ticket for the same premier is $480. I paid only $15 for my ticket.

I am so exited about Fathom Events. YOU CAN ENJOY OPERA OR BALLET WITH THE BUCKET OF POPCORN in your hands. Unbelievable! And you don't have to go drive to Downtown, dress up nicely, and than wait in line for another hour after the performance to get out of the parking garage.

Next Wednesday November 30 Market Street Theater presents Esmeralda inspired by Victor Hugo’s famous novel, Notre Dame de Paris. Again Bolshoi Theater's performance. I cant wait. On the December 13th ~ The Nutcracker.

Anna, I love the live stream theater and ballet-you do really feel like you are at a live performance-our local theater, the Jacob Burns Film Center, has fabulous live stream performances-I saw FELA and Phaedra there recently and loved both of them. To see the Bolshoi dance, that up close and personal, is fantastic.

Anna - How wonderful to have a "virtual" front seat at the Bolshoi theatre, with a bucket of popcorn! I didn't realize the theatre had undergone such massive renovations. It must be beautiful. Oh, and next week's performance, via the silver screen, sounds wonderful, and very French, too. Enjoy!

Sally, thank you. Yes Bolshoi was under renovation and during it they performed on the small stage. I was lucky to see grand reopening about a month ago on TV. Bolshoi looks spectacular. I can't wait to see Esmeralda "on the front row at Bolshoi" next week.

$700 million for restoration? And I though restorations here in California were expensive with all the earthquake retrofitting that they have to do. Two of our oldest theaters were renovated within the past five years, but the renovations were only $85 million or so, and people were complaining about that! For $700 million, we would have said tear it down and rebuild.

Hi Jim, LOL you worry about how much they spend on restoration and it is no surprise for you how much a single ticket does cost! Moscow is own of the most expensive sites in the world.

I went to see today Bolshoi Ballet at Dorothy Chandler in Downtown Los Angeles. Experience is unforgettable.

Everything was a perfection: dance, orchestra, costumes, decorations, light...

I am a 'regular' at such events: ballet, opera, theater, etc.

My suggestion: if you can see Bolshoi alive, do go. Cost every penny.
