The Country Club of Sapphire Valley's pristine 18 hole golf course was designed by renowned golf course architect, George C. Cobb and opened in 1956. Unique among mountain courses, it combines the beautiful vistas of a high mountain valley with the playability of a traditional level course. Laced with trout streams, dotted with ponds and surrounded by large wooded private properties set back from the course, Sapphire Valley is truly the “Gem of the Mountains”.
Through the years the Country Club of Sapphire Valley Golf Course has been enhanced with updated greens, tees, bunkers and an extensive drainage system, while maintaining the integrity of the course’s original classic design. Complementing the course is a state of the art practice facility complete with an extensive short game practice area, featuring a large bunkered green, accommodating practice of every variety of chipping and pitching skill. The driving range features a large, bent grass tee as well as an artificial surface and full-sized target greens for full-swing training.
The Country Club of Sapphire Valley also offers a premier tennis experience with four Har-Tru clay courts nestled in a serene mountain setting. Featuring a USPTA certified and former world-ranked tennis professional, the renowned tennis center offers an array of programs for all ages and skill levels. A full service Pro Shop offering apparel and tennis equipment is available for Club members and guests.
The Country Club of Sapphire Valley’s 3,200 square foot Health & Fitness Center and pool area offers the following fitness modules:
- Exercise Stations including state-of-the-art equipment designed for circuit training and cardiovascular fitness.
- Aerobics Room offering yoga, body sculpting, step classes, sports fitness and motivator exercising with personal trainer.

At the Turn Cafe
Stop in while making the turn after # 9 for lunch on-the-go or come and grab a cafe style lunch At the Turn. Seating is available out front or up on the Mountain Veranda for those who aren't on the course.
Mountain Veranda Cafe
With a beautiful view of holes 1, 9 and 18, the Mountain Veranda Cafe is a serene place to sit and enjoy lunch.
Main Dining Room
With rustic decor, the Main Dining room is the perfect place to enjoy a night out for dinner. The windows expand across the room to give a spectacular view of the golf course.
Grille 56/Bar
A more casual venue, the Grille 56 is located between the Golf Shop and the Main Dining Room. It's a great place to stop into after a round of golf or for a casual meal. The Bar is a great place to enjoy a cocktail with fellow Members.
Grille 56 Patio
Doors open from the Grille 56 and Bar to the Grille 56 Patio. Enjoy a serene lunch or dinner, or relax in the rocking chairs while watching golfers tee off, making the turn and coming in from thier round of golf.
The Epicurean Room
Located in the Center of the Clubhouse, this room gives members and their guests a chance to wine and dine in a more intimate setting, with a four course menu. Enjoy the stone firplace and elegant artwork while dining with close family and friends.
Membership in the Country Club of Sapphire Valley is not tied to ownership of property anywhere. However, most members live in the surrounding communities shown in the search results below.
