As I was browsing the new homes listed on the market today I came across this home. I really don't know what the agent was thinking. Notice the sign in the photo(against the rules) not to mention now this agent is known for a really crumby photo. If you were the agent what would your marketing remarks say?
Dan, The photo looks eerie ... like a good Halloween photo. It's interesting that taking a photo with a sign is against the rules. So many rules with the Boards. I wish they would make it a rule not to sell our MLS data to third parties who turn around and try to sell it back to us.
Dan:
Yes, the real estate sign in a photo is a no-no. A day time photo would probably be better for this home. Night time photos are tricky, They look best if the home is on the water and there is a nice reflection of the home.
Kathleen, interesting point you make there at the end, but I am not on your side of the fence. If you don't want to pay for leads then don't pay for them. John Thompson muses quite a bit about it on his blog here. http://www.phoenixrealestateguy.com/edina-realty-pulling-listings-from-trulia-and-realtor-com/
Still my question is what is the agent thinking hitting the submit button here? The house looks like it's from poltergeist
Hello Dan:
I see your point. Sign aside, the photo is different and that may be exactly what the agent is looking for. If the rest of the photos tell a good story this one maybe OK.
Dan, I've seen some really nice pictures of high end homes at night with the light on. I do agree though, this is not one of them. Would they get fined if someone reports the sign?
On the positive side the photo is not crooked... I see so many of those that are just impossible to imagine that anyone would want to go inside.
If this is the only exterior photo, then I would say probably not a good choice. But if this is in addition to a daytime photo, it's not terrible.
I'd say the marketing should be "Not as scary as it looks!" or " Less Scary inside!" too funny
I love this picture and the idea of Wordless Wednesday! Thanks for sharing!
I agree looks like a Halloween Photo not something that is describing the virtues of of the home.
