V-V-V!
In this down-turned economy that has stricken so many and is striking even more with each passing day, those of us who "have it" could ease the pain of our stricken co-passengers on this marvelous Planet we call EARTH! "If-If-If", we often say. "I am too busy, but I would love to pitch in...if I only had more time." Sound familiar? You bet it does! I pride myself on being a professional that goes out of his way to help someone in need, particularly if they are elderly (What is that?) or physically-challenged. I do that a lot and it gives me the "good-all-over" feeling every time.
But this all said and done, the only volunteering that I do is when I play the Saint Nicholas role in December. A lot of HO-HO-HO, bouncing around the venue (usually a nursing home or hospital activity area) spreading CHEER and handing out gifts hither and yon. The activity is hard on me as I see so many that can hardly move and don't even know who I am (Santa) or who they are. Yes, reality can be SAD-SAD-SAD!
I always leave a Santa engagement, thinking "Why don't I get involved
with VOLUNTEERING on a regular basis throughout the year?" Yes, it is the ye old TIME FACTOR and I am 73 myself, with 3 businesses on the go, and being a perfectionist I invest additional time making all of my real estate documents, flyers, reports, etc. creative and polished. So, the reality for me is to contiinue the Santa role and be as appreciative as possible for those that work directly with those in need as VOLUNTEERS! All of you are the GREATIST and I thank you!
