As a strong supporter of local small businesses, I am pleased to post this information about the second Small Business Saturday, on Saturday, November 26, 2011 all across the country.
American Express is behind this initiative to boost small business sales during the busy holiday shopping weekend.
How does it work?
- Spend a minimum of $25 and American Express will give a $25 statement credit to 100,000 card holders who register their card and use it to shop on Small Business Saturday at any locally-owned independent small business that accepts American Express.
- Registration can be found on the Small Business Saturday Facebook page.
- Don’t have an American Express account? Spread the word about the day and your local businesses by mentioning shops and restaurants via Facebook and Twitter.
- For every person who ‘likes’ Small Business Saturday on Facebook,American Express will donate $1 up to $500,000 to Girls Inc., an organization which empowers young women to be future entrepreneurs.
