Hey D.C. Let’s Talk Turkey.
Over our wonderful Thanksgiving meal with family and friends our conversation turned towards the Washington D.C.’s shenanigan, economical fall out and current events. Here are some of the comments and suggestions for our government that were thrown out, much of it plain common sense.
Let the career Politian’s be paid minimum wage, the majority of them are millionaires.
To trim 1 trillion dollars off the budget, take 100 billion out of the Pentagon budget every year for 10 years, that is a drop in the bucket for them.
Corporations have up to 4 trillion dollars out of the country, let them bring it back to the USA tax free but as long as they invest it in buildings, jobs, educations and not dividends.
No matter how you sugar coat it, we are in the 2nd Depression.
The military does not make you a world power in today’s environment, being economically strong and business leader does.
Obama should have focused more on the economy and less on Health Care.
In the past 8 years the Bush tax cuts have not created jobs.
Higher taxes in the Clinton years did not slow the economy.
The 99% have to adjust their lifestyles to pay their bills, let Congress do the same.
The top 1% would not be where they are if they were not in the great USA, so yes you should pay more in percentage wise WITHOUT write-offs!
Limit special interest groups and lobbyists. Check out 60 Minutes article on Grover Norquist’s ‘hold on the GOP’ and how they represent the 1% and what goes wrong with it in Jack Abramoff’s interview ‘The lobbyist’s playbook’.
Food for thought, maybe over the long weekend you should send your comments in to your representative in Washington D.C.
